"It's violent and educational. But mostly violent... YAAAAY VIOLENCE!"

For the lighting, you could always darken the middle of the leaves closest to the light (just the middle, the edges can be very light) to exaggerate the intensity of the light. The girl's right side could be a little darker, maybe some darker spots underneath the eyes, but I'm mostly talking about the hair.
I really like the shades in this though, as well as the way you made the leaf lineart in their actual colour instead of black. It makes it softer looking? XD

Nachos.

I don't see a bikini.

...Thank you.
It's there.
Behind the leaves.

.....Oh. My. Gawd. I made the hair shinny. IN A BLOODY BUSH. -bangs head on table- Thank you SO SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME REALISE THIS. SHINY ANIMU HABITS DIE HARDDDDDDDD CURSSEE YOUUUU.
-sighs- But thank you very very much for the pointers though~! I'm always pretty terrified of adding too much dark colors...
--
LOL yeahhhh. XD And I know, I'm starting to re-add hair shine to my drawings (DAMMIT ALL) and it totally screws up the realism of it all. But it looks nice so...
Yes, I remember that 'here's a birthday present with dark colours for you even though there's no dark colours at all' situation. XD Don't worry, I'm a afraid of darks too. They contaminate pastel colours so quickly, it's ridiculous, so now, despite hating my artwork being very pale, I tend to keep it that way to not screw up. I think [link] was the first piece I actually went all out with the darks for, and even then the shading didn't add up. XD Oh well.
